Each year, for the past few years, my family and I have participated in the annual Mother’s Day Classic.
All proceeds from the Mother’s Day Classic are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation , a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and supports research into breast cancer prevention and treatment. Since 1998 the Mother’s Day Classic has raised $10.8 million dollars.
This Sunday, 13 May, is Mother’s Day and my family will again be participating in the Mother’s Day Classic. However this year it will be a very different dynamic for us. As many of you know, my sister, Mary, passed away in January this year after fighting breast cancer for nearly four years.
Her husband Sam and her son Ned (6) and daughter Lola (4) are getting on with life in rural England as best they can without their wife and mother.
My aim in the next 7 days is to raise $2,500 for breast cancer research, as part of my participation in the MDC.
I willingly provide this blog and my newsletter, InSight each week for free. If you have gained at least five dollars worth of value in reading my material, I would invite you to please demonstrate your appreciation by donating $5 . Yes, only five dollars.
If as few as one in four of my weekly readers donates $5, I will reach my fundraising target. Donations are tax deductible and you will receive a tax invoice.
Thank for supporting breast cancer research and making a contribution towards preventing this devastating disease which one in nine Australian women have to confront at some stage in their lives.
I would like to say how thankful I am to my readers, for the great support I have received in my fundraising for the annual Mother’s Day Classic http://www.mothersdayclassic.com.au/ which I took part in last Sunday.
As of the time of writing this issue of InSight (Monday 14th May), 75 sponsors donated a total of $3045 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation , a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and supports research into breast cancer prevention and treatment.
The fundraising closes this Friday 18 May, so you still have an opportunity to donate. My new goal is to raise $4,000 .
I would like to ask you, if you haven’t already donated, for a donation of $5 . Yes, just five dollars.
I only need another 189 sponsors at $5 each to reach my new fundraising target. This will assist the MDC to raise over $4.2 million this year .
I willingly provide InSight (and my blog posts) to you each week for free. If you have gained at least five dollars worth of value in reading my material then I would invite you to demonstrate your appreciation by donating to breast cancer research.
